The Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute became one of the organizers of the All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference “The Chornobyl Disaster: Medical, Environmental, and Social Consequences 40 Years Later”, held pursuant to Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dated 04.12.2025 No. 4716-IX and Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 05.02.2026 No. 118-r.
The conference focused on the following issues:
Medical and biological consequences of radiation exposure and public health issues;
The ecological condition of the affected territories and modern approaches to their monitoring and restoration;
Scientific and technical challenges of the sustainable development of nuclear energy;
Socio-economic and psychological aspects of the Chornobyl disaster.
The Faculty of Biomedical Engineering is developing cooperation in the fields of radiobiology, radiation safety, rehabilitation, and the development of dosimetry methods and tools with a number of partners, primarily with institutions of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.
