Study Visit to Stockholm within the Framework of the International CURIOUS Project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A group of lecturers from the Department of Biosafety and Human Health carried out a study visit to Stockholm, Sweden, from April 20 to 24, 2026, within the framework of the international project \u201cOccupational Therapy Without Borders: Swedish-Ukrainian Professional Exchange for Sustainable Rehabilitation Development in Ukraine (CURIOUS)\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The host organization was Beredskapslyftet<\/strong>, a Swedish organization that ensured a high level of internship organization and provided access to leading clinical and educational platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purpose of the Visit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program was aimed at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

familiarization with the modern occupational therapy system in Sweden;
studying interdisciplinary approaches in rehabilitation;
mastering international assessment models, in particular MOHOST;
improving the qualifications of lecturers and developing international cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Main Areas of the Internship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit covered key aspects, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

organization of rehabilitation care in Sweden;
modern approaches to occupational therapy;
clinical practice in neurological and physical rehabilitation;
patient-centered approaches and personalized support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leading Institutions and Partners<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants had the opportunity to gain experience from leading institutions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karolinska Institutet (KI)<\/strong> \u2014 one of the leading medical universities in Europe;
Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Danderyd Hospital<\/strong> \u2014 a university rehabilitation clinic;
Stockholms Sjukhem<\/strong> \u2014 a center for primary and specialized rehabilitation;
Sophiahemmet Sjukhus<\/strong> \u2014 a multidisciplinary medical and educational center;
Aleris (Spinalis)<\/strong> \u2014 specialized rehabilitation, including spinal rehabilitation;
Independent Living Institute (ILI)<\/strong> \u2014 development of independence for persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Significance of the Visit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The internship contributed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

improving the professional level of lecturers;
integrating modern European approaches into the educational process;
strengthening international ties between Ukraine, Sweden, and the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
